Located facing the sea at Calheta, Calheta Marina opened to the public on 3rd September 2004. It provides the kind of tranquillity and comfort that attracts visitors from the very first moment.

A qualified and prepared team will welcome you to a familiar and modern environment, set up in one of the buildings surrounding the Marina and equipped with a living-room with TV, a meeting room, Internet access and many other facilities to make you feel on holidays but reachable at any time.

Its 339 moorings, with capacity for crafts from 6 to 25m in length, and a maximum depth of 3.5 metres, including 44 places for jet skis and an exclusive passage for pleasure crafts, shows the Marina’s versatility and willingness to please.

With a wide range of services, such as a fuel station, a pump-out pump for sewage disposal, used oils disposal points and a support craft for mooring manoeuvre, the Marina provides a safe and pleasant stay, and offers a set of outlets and restaurants mainly for navigators use. There is also a parking lot with capacity for approximately 340 vehicles.

To welcome sailing competitions, the Marina houses excellent areas inland providing space for Competitors, Press and Organizers.

Climate is excellent in this area known as “Costa do sol” where visitors can enjoy the best temperatures in the Region. Next to the Marina there is an artificial beach with yellow sand for beach-lovers, and a four-star hotel for those keen on staying away from the sea after long trips.

Calheta is all set to entertain its visitors in the best possible way, with an Arts Centre, located 3 minutes away from the Marina, holding big exhibitions and shows, as well as the Sugar Mills of Calheta, where you can try some of the regional delicacies, such as “bolo de mel” (honey cake), “broas” (corn bread) and even “poncha” (local drink).
